Before starting the process with Sinead, our son would wake almost every hour and relied on us parents to rock him to sleep on our shoulders. A gruelling endeavour indeed! Through working with Sinead, he now settles himself to sleep and will sleep from 7 pm to 630 am. Our little boy was a month shy of 2 and a half and still waking several times during the night and coming to bed with us every night. He’d go down at a different time each night, it could take up to 45 minutes to get him to sleep so we could then put him in his cot. He’d wake up demanding a bottle and coming into bed with us, then proceed to kick and head butt us. It got to the point where my husband and I were sleeping in separate rooms so that at least one of us would get a good nights sleep, not ideal. Plus with a new baby due in 9 days we were desperate and needed to try something. Friends and family were all advocates of the cry it out method, we tried it twice for less than 5 minutes, it was too distressing listening to him wretching from the height of crying and calling out for us. I loved Sinead’s technique because it was tailored to us as a family and from the first night he was going down in his cot and staying in it. After about 11 days we hit the extinction burst but since then he’s been sleeping 11 hours a night plus his nap during the day. We put him down at 730 and he doesn’t call for us until 0630!!! As my husband says “it’s a miracle”. He goes down in his cot no bother and stays there all night. My husband was totally skeptical at first and didn’t see how it would work, now he’s a total convert and says it’s the best money we ever spent. Prior to meeting Sinead he asked “can we not just get this info from a book or off the internet?” Probably! But it’s general information, not tailored to your specific situation. Sinead helped us to improve our son’s sleep. Once we were able to create a proper sleep routine and teach him how to fall asleep by him self, several other aspects of his daily life improved. We were able to get him off of bottles and as a result of this his eating habits also improved. Night time & nap times are no longer stressful for every one involved.
Hands down, I have to say that this was the best investment in a baby related matter, that I ever made. Our evenings have been transformed. We are no longer watching the clock wondering what is going to happen later and what hoops will we have to jump through in order to get our baby girl to sleep! We now have a baby who will nap for three hours during the day and then head off to bed again at 7pm and fall asleep independently. Not only that, if she stirs during the night then nine times out of ten she settles herself back to sleep again. Wakes at 7.30am, happy and well rested. You definitely must commit to the plan that Sinead gives you even though at times it was hard, particularly at the start but it is so worth it. I learned so much about baby sleep during this process. When we had our second baby we through we’d sail through getting him to sleep. Our first was “issue” free, had good sleep habits, could self sooth from a young age and we had made sure we didn’t give him any bad sleep associations. We knew all the things not to do. But, as with all babies, no two are the same. Our second had colic, reflux and tongue tie, ensuring that every bad sleeping habit was there. He needed to be rocked to sleep and once he was asleep he would only remain so in mine or my husband’s arms. He never had more than maybe an hour of sleep unbroken and we were taking it in shifts at night to be with him. On top of this I was struggling with postnatal depression so had zero confidence in my ability to get us all the much needed sleep and rest we were craving. So, I got on to Sinead and we’ve not looked back. Our little man now sleeps through the night and self sooths when he wakes, he has become a happy and relaxed baby who now loves being in his own bed. Even his first trip away was a complete success despite him being in unfamiliar surroundings he settled and slept through the night. He settles so well as long as we follow the routine that Sinead created for us. Sinead’s patience and support throughout the process was invaluable and was crucial in me having the confidence in myself that I could get our little man to sleep. I don’t know where we would be without Sinead’s help, it has honestly made our family so much happier and very well rested!

I went to see Sinead the day before I returned to work as my son used to wake every hour and a half. To say our lives have changed is an understatement. What I loved about Sinead’s approach is that it is a gentle gradual approach to get our baby to sleep rather than crying it out. This approach worked really well for us and now our son sleeps really well along with Mom and Dad. J My only regret is that I didn’t pick up the phone sooner. Our 18 month old son went from waking multiple times during the night, to eventually sleeping straight through, after completing the sleep training with Sinead. He also went from basically not sleeping at all in the crèche during the day (perhaps 10-15 mins max) to having normal length naps of 1-2 hours. These outcomes have dramatically increased our quality of life, most of all for my son. I had some misgivings about the process (that of sleep training for children) beforehand, but the approach is not harsh like I imagined it might be (though some crying is involved), and the results speak for themselves. Sinead provided excellent support right through and I would highly recommend her if your child is having sleep issues.
Sinead helped me to teach my son to sleep in his own cot all night and he is a much better sleeper than when Sinead started advising me. He is sleeping through the night in his own bed and while he still cries out a few times, he settles back very easily, sometimes on his own. While he sometimes wakes at night, he settles back very quickly, without expecting to be fed, and stays in his own cot. Knowing that I would talk to Sinead the following morning certainly helped me persevere in the early days. Getting the same advice from a book wouldn’t work as well. I have already recommended Sinead to a few friends.
I contacted Sinead as I wanted to get my little girl into a routine before I returned to work. She would only go to sleep during the day if she was rocked to sleep in my arms, in a carrier, in the car etc. At night, she would feed to sleep but then constantly wake during the night for more feeds or to be rocked back to sleep. It didn’t change overnight but I can honestly say that I saw improvement after the first night of following Sinead’s plan. She now sleeps through the night and we’ve even had to wake her a few times to get ready to go to crèche! At the point I contacted Sinead, my son was almost 9 months old and typically waking 3 times a night to feed. His naps were 30 minutes long and I was bed sharing with him. I was unsure whether to start sleep training as I was moving house shortly and returning to work. All I can say is that I feel blessed to have found your leaflet! We were in such a bad place a few months ago. Utterly exhausted and not able to enjoy Isla at all. In fact the lack of sleep was really affecting us as a family. I knew something had to change. We did struggle at the start and giving up Islas soother was hard but with your constant and consistent calls and texts we finally got there. It was great to feel I could always contact you and your tips really helped get us through. Even towards the end when we were nearly there but not quite you stick with us until we got Isla sleeping up to 11 hours!
Life is certainly much better and Isla is thriving on the additional sleep.

After 10 month of sleepless nights I got a contact for Sinead and she really was our last hope as at that time my little boy Matthew was really cranky and me and my husband were like walking zombies. I am very happy we did contact her as she was very helpful and professional! She prepared individual plan for Matthew and which was really easy to follow and understand. She was also on the phone whenever I needed advice and was also checking by emails .It actually did not take so long for Matthew to settle and to improve his sleeping habit after we started to program. Charlie was a great sleeper from 12 weeks to 20 weeks, then it all changed and he was waking several times during the night for long periods of time. All of his daytime naps were on top of myself or my husband so I would get nothing done at home and it was such a bad habit for him which we created. He also had a dummy which he permanently had in his mouth and was waking for. We kept thinking it would get better and he would ‘grow’ out of it but it only got worse and bottles at nighttime increased. We contacted Sinéad when he was about 10 months old and I can honestly say it was the best decision we ever made. We had tried several methods but had given up a few days in. Sinéad designed a plan that was tailored to Charlie and over the course of a few days we noticed a difference. And from about two weeks on, he was sleeping 12 hours through the night and has done so since. We also weaned him off his dummy at the advice of sinead pretty much the day we met her and we haven’t looked back since. No patting, rubbing, rocking or crying to sleep anymore, Charlie is now able to get himself to sleep and sleeps two naps a day which if you had asked me a couple of months ago I could have never seen happening. To say we are over the moon is an understatement. We could not have done it without sineads constant support and encouragement and advice. Sinead, was the best decision we made! Sinead, you were a God send. I know Lily was not easy to tame but we got there in the end and it was worth it all for all our sakes. You were always at the end of the phone at any ridiculous hour and even when you were on holidays we were in touch. You couldn’t have done more.
Lily did not make life easy on us and it was a real challenge to get her to where we are now but Sinead took me through all the steps at our pace and persevered with us. It was all very gentle and she adjusted what to do daily based on how Lily had reacted the night before. We used to get Lily to nap in the car or buggy and bed times were horrific with 2-3hours wide awake in the small hours of the morning. Now she will happily nap in the cot and goes down awake, at night she goes to bed and sleeps through until morning. Sinead guided me through any hurdles we encountered not just sleep related ones!

We were loosing our mind with sleep deprivation before i contacted Better Baby Sleep. It made a massive difference to our 1 and a half year olds sleep. We would still be pulling our hair out without her help. I was very busy with work and she would always check in with me via text when I didn’t follow up. Prior to engaging with a professional I had the anxiety that goes with the assumption a professional will see what you are doing ‘wrong’. Between total exhaustion and being incapable of making a decision generally and the anxiety that calling in an expert brings when the assumption is that the process will be grueling for everyone, I finally made the call. And like all parents in this situation I wish I had sooner. Sineads style and approach is so gentle and child focused. We took the training at a pace that I could manage and worked around all the usual colds, holidays etc. I really felt that Sinead was present every step of the way and she was very attuned to what everyone feels is their unique sleep dynamic with their child. I never felt rushed, or encouraged to try a technique out that I wasn’t comfortable with. I honestly cannot recommend Sinead enough! I had a 7.5 month old who stopped sleeping properly at 3 months. He would wake every hour, sometimes more. He was in my bed and my husband in the spare room. Sinead’s plan honestly started working on day one and within a week or so my baby was sleeping through the night in his cot in his own room and napping twice a day in there too. After 15 months of our son only being able to fall asleep when we were in the room and waking 2 or 3 times a night we were at our wits end. He was relying on a bottle to send him off to sleep and could wake up to 3 times a night and often be awake a few hours at a time.
